Constructing Metaphors
Use images to represent the metaphors with apps such as Pic Collage or Typic (iPhone app that works on iPad.) On the web use BigHugeLabs to create "motivational poster" or collages of a metaphor, or use piZap to create a collage or "poster."

Use Photocard (iPad) to create a postcard of a metaphor. Add a picture on one side and a description or explanation on the other.
Similarities - Created with Haiku Deck, presentation software that inspires
Use word clouds such as Wordle.net or Tagxedo (web) or Word Salad (iPad). Copy and paste a list of analogies into the word cloud app and then use as a matching activity for analogies.
Comparing and Contrasting
Use piZap (web) or Pic Collage (iPad) to create a collage of two or more objects, characters, places, animals, etc. Then, use Thinglink (iPad or web) to create interactive images with links to text boxes (details) or even external links or more images.
Use StoryMe or Pic Collage (iPad) to create a project that adds captions to pictures describing similarities or differences. Google Drawing could also be used for this task. (See below for more on Google Drawing).
